Betty Maxine Kirk

Betty Maxine (Sowers) Kirk, 93, formerly of Winona, entered her eternal home on Thursday, June 30, 2022. She was born August 2, 1928, in Oakley, KS, to Ora and Daisy (Clark) Sowers.

On May 23, 1948, Maxine married Kenneth Kirk, in Oakley, KS. To this union, 3 children were born.

Maxine was a wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, making homemade noodles for special occasions, crocheting, making afgans for her family and playing the piano. She also loved her cats and dogs.

Maxine was a member of the Winona United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the church choir.

She is survived by her children, Terry (Lanis) Kirk, Sheryl (Michael) Kough and Connie (Roger) Kough; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and her sister Shirley Haucschild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kenneth and granddaughter Ashton Kough.

A Memorial Service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2022, at Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley, with inurnment in the Oakley City Cemetery.
