Charles F. Moos, 88, of Grinnell, died Tuesday, August 18, 2026. He was born on August 21, 1937, in Menlo, KS to John and Alvina (Schlageck) Moos. He moved with his parents and older brother to Grinnell where two sisters and a brother were added to the family. Charlie attended Grinnell schools and then went to college at Benedictine and Fort Hays. He served in the United States Army for two years. He returned to Grinnell and worked at the CO-OP for many years and also on the family farm. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus where he served as Faithful Navigator.
Charlie married Marjorie (Hargitt) Redmond on March 27, 1978. They enjoyed square dancing and one of their favorite memories was a trip they took to Germany and Austria with the Colby High School Choir. Marj went as the Colby school nurse and Charlie got to join her.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; brother LeRoy Moos: brother-in-law Gerald Schaffer and sister-in-law Charla Moos.
He is survived by his wife Marjorie; siblings, Dennis Moos, Denora Holzinger and Darlene Schaffer: stepchildren, Lisa Redmond, Tom (Sharon) Redmond and Kelly (TShane) Roberts; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law Joan McCormick; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is 5-7:00 pm with a Vigil at 7:00 pm Monday, August 24, 2026, at the Immaculate Conception Parish Center, Grinnell. The Funeral Mass is at 10:00 am Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Grinnell, with burial in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Immaculate Conception Church or the Grinnell Methodist Church and mailed in care of Baalmann Mortuary, PO Box 391, Colby, KS 67701.
