David Joseph Brungardt

David Joseph Brungardt, 55, of Grinnell, died Monday, May 5, 2025. He was born September 4, 1969, in Hoxie, KS, to Elmer and Twona (Zerr) Brungardt. David was a 1988 graduate of Grinnell High School. He was a lifelong farmer and rancher and enjoyed gardening, flowers, building fence and caring for his cows. David was very kindhearted, and he loved children.

David was preceded in death by his father Elmer, his brother Robert, grandparents, Uncle Van and Aunt Gaye Zerr, Uncle Edwin Brungardt, brother-in-law Tim Mong, and his mother’s companion, Bill Frerichs.

David is survived by his mother Twona; siblings, Curtis Brungardt, Marilyn Mong, Donna (Leon) Tuttle, Uncle Kenny Brungardt, nephews and nieces, cousins and his beloved cows.

The Funeral Mass is at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oakley, with burial in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Grinnell. Memorials may be made to the Grinnell Fire Department or the Immaculate Conception Cemetery Fund and sent in care of Baalmann Mortuary, PO Box 391, Colby, KS 67701.
