Gale Merlin Schaffer

Gale Merlin Schaffer, 73, of Monument, Kansas, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on September 18, 1951, in Monument, Kansas, Gale was the son of Glenn and Edith Schaffer. He carried the values of hard work, humility, and quiet strength throughout his life — values deeply rooted in his upbringing.

Gale was a devoted father and grandfather, proud of the family he helped build and guide.

He is survived by his sons, Daniel Schaffer (wife Stacey) and Jerry Schaffer (wife Jennifer). He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Joseph Schaffer. Gale’s legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Bryanna, Sabrina, Madison, Adam, Haleigh, Ethan, and Jaxon Schaffer — each of whom brought him immense pride and joy.

Gale will be remembered for his steadfast nature, his loyalty to those he loved, and the quiet way he showed care and support to his family. His presence was a source of strength, and his memory will remain a lasting comfort to those who knew him.

A private family service will be held to honor Gale’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to a local hospice organization or charity of your choice, in Gale’s memory.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved
