Jackie Lee Urban

Jackie Lee Urban, 86, of Atwood, KS, died Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the Atwood Good Samaritan. She was born in McCook, NE on November 14, 1938, to Wayne and Betty (Hader) Taylor and was the oldest of their three children. Jackie graduated from McCook High School in 1957 and worked as a telephone operator for a few years. On September 25, 1960, she married Delvin Urban and they had three children, Tina Marie, Donnie Joe and Scott Wayne. Jackie and Delvin moved to a farm six miles south of Atwood, KS after their marriage. There Jackie began her life as a farm wife. She loved to cook and was a very good cook. Jackie was a huge fan of the Atwood Buffalo’s. She enjoyed watching her son Scott and his friends’ playing sports in Atwood. Del passed away in 1981 and in 1982 Jackie went to work at Beamgard Learning Center in Atwood and worked there until its closing. She was a great supporter of the Prairie Developmental Center in Atwood and the Association for Retarded Citizens. In her spare time Jackie loved collecting, repurposing things and going to garage sales and local auctions, where you could always find her in the front row.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Delvin Urban; children Tina Urban and Donnie Urban and grandson Mark Green.

She is survived by her son Scott (Debra) Urban; grandchildren, Sarah Jean Maaske, Amy Jo Kastens, Jade Kocher and Cody (Kelsey) Green; great grandchildren, Aiden and August Maaske, Baize Kastens, Holt and Lainey Green, Finn and Myles Kocher; sister Susan Klein; brother Don (Mary) Taylor; and many nieces and nephews.
