Janet M. Hawkins

Janet Marion (Nicholson) Hawkins, of Atwood, Kansas, passed away November 3, 2025, age 83. She was born in England on April 23, 1942, to John Arthur Nicholson and Nancy Lea, later Davidson. At the age of six she traveled with her parents from South Hampton, England to New York, New York on the ship Nieuw Amsterdam.

She lived in many different States in America, settling in Colorado and Kansas in later adult life. She was a loving wife, mother, stepmom and grandmother to many.

Janet was a homemaker and waitress, bringing smiles to brighten people's day. She enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, shopping, scrapbooking and gardening. She loved taking care of animals, whether it was dogs, cats, pigs or chickens.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Ann Marie Pelkey, a son Rick Dean Pelkey, grandsons, Sean Michael Ybarra and Michael Lane Smith.

She is survived by her daughters, Gay Jackson-Allbee, of Washington State, Maryanne Richards, of Alaska, Wonetta Zeitler, of Colorado and Tammy Lynn Hawkins, of Kansas; stepdaughter Michele (Roberts) Stockham and other step-children; grandchildren, Brandon Jackson, Darrin Jackson, Cameron Jackson, Cody Gregg, Carl Ulman, Linda Leigh (Roberts) Kahn, Kayla Ann Marie (Statley) Iarrobino, Cody Allen Kane, Tracy Lynn (Hoppal) Womack, Franklin Lane Smith, Faith Stockham and Hope Stockham plus over 15 great grandchildren.
