Jeffrey Charles Nash, 77, of Plano, TX, died September 28, 2024, in Plano, TS. Born in Atwood, KS on May 21, 1947, to Charles Nash, Jr. and Naomi (Horton) Nash, he was raised in Atwood and graduated from Atwood High School with the class of 1965. Jeffrey then attended The University of Kansas where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He had many fond memories of playing with the Marching Jayhawks. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 1969 and later received a Master of Science from the University of Arkansas. Following graduation, he served in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Mountain Home, ID and later at Hahn Air Force Base in Germany.
Upon returning to the United States in 1974, he moved to Texas where he worked for Celanese as a chemical Engineer for 25 years at plants in Pampa, Bay City, Dallas and Clear Lake. Following retirement, he returned to Kansas where he worked in Topeka and Russell before settling in Overland Park, where he enjoyed playing bridge at the Bridge Studio and refereeing soccer. In 2019, he moved back to Texas to be closer to family.
Jeffrey’s interests included bowling, playing bridge competitively, and building home improvement projects. Having studied German in high school and college, he also enjoyed his time in Germany as an exchange student, during his service in the Air Force, and traveling for work and pleasure.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gregory Nash and sister Melinda (Nash) Brown.
Jeffrey is survived by his daughter Tracie (Nash) Brugge and husband Will Brugge; son Allen Jeffrey Nash and wife CJ Nash; granddaughters, Emily (Brugge) Johnson, Courtney Brugge, Liza Nash and Abby Nash and former wife, Ethelyn Kay (Netson) Nash.
A memorial service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Atwood United Methodist Church with inurnment in Fairview Cemetery, Atwood. For information or condolences visit baalmannmortuary.com
