Jennifer Elizabeth Lindsey

Jennifer Elizabeth Lindsey, 78, of Colby, died Monday, September 1, 2025. She was born on July 5, 1947, in Hays, KS to Harold and Hilda (Meisner) Zerfas. Jennifer graduated from Manhattan High School in 1965 and attended one year of college at Concordia University in Concordia, MO. She was married in 1969, and two daughters were born to this union. Jennifer worked at Kretschmer Quaker Oats from the mid-1970s to 1992. She then worked at Diamond D Trailer Manufacturing until 1997, KSU Bank from 1997-1998 and then Blue Beacon, in Salina, KS, from 1998 until her retirement in 2012. Jennifer then moved to Colby, KS to be closer to family and after a while started working at Colby Community College. She enjoyed taking walks, reading, coloring, and being part of her church ladies’ group. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren’s events.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her parents; aunt Ilene Mounkes and uncle Bernie Zerfas.

She is survived by her daughters, Erin Lindsey and Tama (Ryan) Imhof; grandchildren, Aaron Lindsey, Kade Moore, Chloe Imhof and Brayden Imhof; siblings, Tom (Juanita) Zerfas and David (Kim) Zerfas; nephews, Jeff Zerfas and Karl Zerfas and niece Alyssa Zerfas.

Visitation is 5-7:00 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2025, at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby. Funeral Service is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby, with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, Ellis.
