Kenneth G. Bieber

Kenneth, known to most as "Kenny", was born on December 8, 1942, to Bruce and Margaret Ann Bieber. He attended Colby schools and graduated from Colby High School in 1960.

Following graduation, Kenny proudly served his country in the United States Army after being drafted during the Vietnam era. Much of his military service was spent at Fort Lewis, Washington.

In 1978, Kenny married Lois Jackson Williams, and the two shared many years until her passing in 2010.

Colby was home for most of Kenny's life; he was a well-known and respected member of the community. Many residents remember him from the B-Hive which he and Lois opened in 1980, and he continued owning one of the oldest single owner businesses in Colby for over 45 years. He is remembered for his friendly nature and ornery pranks. His gift for conversation meant he rarely met a stranger.

Deeply committed to public service, Kenny served the City of Colby as a Councilman for 12 years and continued his service as Mayor for 8 years, working to support and improve the community he loved.

In his free time, Kenny enjoyed spending time at the lake in his motorhome and boat, where he could relax, fish, and enjoy the outdoors. Between his hobbies and his business, there was always something that needed to be fixed. Kenny believed there was a right way and a wrong way to get things done, yet he had a knack for finding a path somewhere in between. His unique approach often became stories that family and friends fondly share today. After Lois' passing, he found Florida as a second home for the winter months. He enjoyed the warm weather and formed many lasting friendships. There he met his loving and devoted wife Nohora.

He is survived by his wife, Nohora Bieber of Delray Beach, Florida; his son, Jeff Bieber of Washington; his stepsons, Rod Williams and Scott (Donnie) Williams of Colby, Kansas; his brother, Jim (Evelyn) Bieber of Lakewood, Washington; his grandchildren Brian Williams of Colby, Kansas, Jeff (Marcia) Williams of Hoisington, Kansas, Brandon Williams of Colby, Kansas, Jami (Calvin) Weiss of Imperial, Nebraska, Kayla (Tom) Spanel of Gaffney, South Carolina, and Jenessa (Andrew) Elling of Colby, Kansas. Kenny was also blessed with 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He will be remembered for his devotion to family, his service to the City of Colby, and the unquestionable value he placed on the smiles of all he met. He will be missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.
