Loren Elwyn Guill

Loren Elwyn Guill, of Menlo died Thursday July 23, 2026, at the age of 77, at Citizens Medical Center, after a long illness.

His parents Basil Guill and Grace (Olsen) Guill had two children; Sheryle (Guill) Yost, and Loren.

After his mother Grace passed away Basil met and married Nina Gillaspie/Ramey and added brother, Ron (Rosemarie) Ramey and sisters, Claudia Price, Patty (Art) Grell and Sandy (Gary) Bonacci. They later moved from Iowa to Colby

Loren was a hard worker and when he touched his first wrench, he decided he wanted to be a mechanic. His dad gave him an old car to work on and he had it running and driving around the yard at a very young age. Being a mechanic became his passion all he had to do is look at a car that would not start and it would run. He loved working on anything with an engine but his passion was Irrigation Engines (Especially Molines) because you didn’t have to bend over a fender. He ran an engine repair shop for over 60 years. Loren had many talents and he was good at all of them Upholstery Work (he loved working on custom car’s door panels, headliners, seats), Woodworking (remodeling his house), Blading, Mowing, and Spraying Roads in Menlo Township for many years.

Loren married Paulette Robinson and to this union three children, Amy, Scott, and Tamy were born. They later divorced and he married Susan (Gilbert) Guill, March 13, 1976, they were married 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his father Basil; mothers, Grace and Nina; sister, Sheryle; and sister Patty Grell, grandchildren Angel and Andrew Huff; great grandchild Lillian Ramos.

He leaves to mourn him his wife Susan Guill, children Amy Nichols, Fort Lupton CO; Scott Harrison, Oakley KS; Tamy Huff (Randy) Rexford KS, three grandchildren, Siera Williby, Mathew (Kassie) Huff, and Alyssa Nichols (Lorenzo Ramos); great grandchildren, Tieh, Aiden, and Greysen Pinocci, Fallyn and Waverly Huff, and Lorenzo Ramos; plus, numerous relatives, friends and extended family that have been so supportive and comforting.

Loren chose cremation and there will be a graveside service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the Gem Cemetery, Gem, KS with fellowship following at the Gem Community Building.
