Maxine Sappenfield

Maxine Sappenfield, 86, formerly of Ozawkie, KS, died Sunday, December 29, 2024. She was born October 8, 1938, in Lyons, KS, to George and Ora (Engelbert) Taylor. Maxine married Merle Sappenfield in 1968 in Atwood, KS. Maxine worked for over 40 years at the State Department in Topeka, KS where they made their home. She enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping, fishing, crafting, baking and crocheting. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Merle; daughter Teresa Hadley and all of her siblings.

She is survived by her children, Larry Clayton, of Hutchinson, KS, Harry Clayton Jr., of Lyons, KS, Angie Pemble, of Hermosa, SD, Tony Sappenfield, of Houston, TX and Vicki Reuber, of Ludell, KS; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and many friends.
