Peggy Jeanne (Katt) Doxon was born September 1, 1962, at the Gove County Medical Center to Arthur and Pauline (Zerr) Katt. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Peggy passed away on October 3, 2024, at the Hays Medical Center with her family at her side. She was 62 years old.
Peggy was raised and worked on the family farm south of Grainfield, KS. She attended Grainfield Grade School and graduated from Wheatland High School in 1981.
Peggy married her high school sweetheart, Phillip Doxon, in Gove, KS, on November 14, 1981. Together they farmed and ranched for 44 years south of Orion, KS. She loved working with her husband, raising their two boys, gardening, cooking and playing with her grandkids. Her hands were rarely idle as she busied them with embroidery, crocheting and her greatest passion, making quilts for her family, friends and charities.
Peggy was preceded in death by her father Arthur Katt. She is survived by her husband Phillip, of Grinnell, her son Kyle (Tessa), and their daughter Lily, of Grinnell and son Kevin (Cassie) and their son Liam, of Downs, KS. She also leaves to mourn her loss, her mother, Pauline Katt, of Grainfield; sisters, Pat (Don) Randall, of Gove, KS and Phyllis (Terry) Marcum, of Ellis, KS and brothers, Allen (Sue) Katt, of Hoxie, KS and Alfred (Cindy) Katt, of WaKeeney, KS.
