Peter Merjil

Pete Merjil, 60, of Colby, died Saturday, June 7, 2025. He was born August 27, 1964, in Los Angeles, CA to Peter and Jaunita (Miller) Merjil. Pete had worked at Commercial Sign for 33 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and watching sports, especially when the Raiders were playing football and the LA Lakers or Golden State Warriors played basketball. He had a large sports card collection, with a majority being football cards. Pete also loved to grill for his family and friends and go camping with them. He was united in marriage to Julie Obenland on October 28, 2005.

Pete was preceded in death by his mother Jaunita.

He is survived by his wife Julie, son Pete Merjil, father Peter Merjil and sisters, Donna Cesena, Diane Rasmussen and Susan Glover.

The family will receive friends and celebrate his life from 5-7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the Gathering Place, Colby.
