Randy Lynn Brown, 71, of Colby, died Sunday, June 22, 2025. He was born on July 20, 1953, in Colby, to Donald and Mildred (Stupka) Brown. Randy attended Colby Public Schools and then worked in construction. He was part of the crew that built Colby Community College in the 1960’s and he helped build the South Park apartments in the 1970s. He served in the Army National Guard for six years in the 1970s. He then went to work for Union Pacific Railroad and worked for Bud Stupka doing construction. He was skilled in every aspect of construction. In his later years he worked at Colby Salvage and Metal, until health issues prevented him from working.
Randy had several hobbies. He started playing guitar in his adolescence and played it throughout his life. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He went on many fishing trips with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Donald Gene Brown and mother Mildred (Stupka) Brown Petty.
He is survived by his wife Priscilla; sister Susan Brown of Pueblo, CO; brothers, Mike (Bonny) of Colby and John Brown of Wichita; nephews, Dan (Cassie) Brown, Nate (Allie) Brown and Travis Amack; nieces Anna Brown, Shanna Brown and Tina Amack.
