Rebecca Lee Eicher, 45, of Colby, Kansas died Thursday, August 27, 2026, after being diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer on April 24, 2026. She was born on September 23, 1980, to parents Debbie Steele and Rick Jackson in Burlington, Colorado. She grew up in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado. Becky was a happy joyous child, thriving on reading books, novels, and short stories, leading to her creative imagination. Becky graduated from Cheyenne Wells High School in May 1999.
Following graduation Becky moved to Larmie, Wyoming and attended the University of Wyoming, where she pursued her interest in literature and elementary education. It was there that Becky found her talents in hair. This led her to move to Greeley, Colorado where she attended Shields School of Cosmetology, graduating in 2002.
Becky then returned home to Cheyenne Wells and began working with Monica Halde at the salon. Becky thrived here gossiping with the local ladies while styling their hair. This is where the lifelong family bonds with the Halde family began. Next came the biggest blessing in Becky’s life, Mr. Tennyson Cooper Jackson. He arrived on October 15, 2007. The salon became a second home to young Tennyson until Tom Halde decided it was time for him to join the farm. Becky then went to work at Eastern Colorado Bank in 2014, where she got to work alongside her mom.
It was the summer of 2020 when Becky met the love of her life, Jake, at a Goodland dirt track race. It was love at first sight and from there everything changed. Following their engagement in February, Becky and Tennyson moved to Colby in April of 2021. Becky began working at Farmers and Merchants Bank in the lending department. On November 6, 2021, Becky and Jake said their vows. Becky began working at Outdoor Bank in June of 2024, working in mortgage compliance.
No matter where she lived or where she worked, Becky was always an active member in her communities where she never knew a stranger. Becky loved to chat and catch up with anyone who had a second to spare. Her smile could brighten any room, her determination was unmatched, and her love and devotion for her family was never in doubt.
Becky was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, John and Esther Jackson; maternal grandparents, Jack and Jeanne Steele; maternal great grandparents, John L. and Mary Steele; uncle Ron Jackson, and brother-in-law Robert Williams.
She is survived in death by husband Jake Eicher; son Tennyson Eicher; mother Debbie Steele; father Rick (Marsha) Jackson; sister Heather Williams; brother Travis (Shanna) Jackson; nieces, Regan Williams and Samantha Jackson; nephews, Trevor Williams and Treyton Williams; aunts and uncles, Cindy (Mark) Henry, Jim Steele, and Janette (Brian) Dickey; in-laws, Ervin (Vicki) Eicher, and many loving cousins.
