Tina Marie Urban

Tina Marie Urban, 63, of Atwood, Kan., died Friday, January 3, 2025. Tina Marie was born July 7, 1961, at Rawlins County Hospital, Atwood, Kan., to Delvin Joseph and Jacqueline Lee (Taylor) Urban.

Tina was baptized at 3 months old at Calvary Episcopal Church, Golden, Colo. Godparents were Donald Taylor and Suzanne Klein.

Tina attended special education school in McCook, Nebr., Atwood Grade School, and the Beamgard Learning Center. While attending Beamgard Learning Center, she participated in Special Olympics, cheerleading, basketball and bowling. Tina graduated from BLC in 1982. She began attending Prairie Developmental Center in 1983. While at PDC she gained lots of skills. Tina moved to Plumb Street Group Home in 2022.

Tina enjoyed Western music, including Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson and The Judds. Her favorite flower was the red rose. Her favorite foods were hamburgers, french fries, pizza, ice cream and M&M’s. Her favorite sports included Rawlins County wrestling and football and the Denver Broncos. She looked forward to trips to Golden, Colo. to visit her grandparents, relatives and friends and enjoyed rides with Scott to check cattle.

Tina was preceded in death by her father, brother Donnie and grandparents.

Survivors include her mother, brother Scott and wife Debbie and family, uncle Donald Taylor, aunt Suzanne Klein, Maxine Wright, the Chessmore families, Bud and Micki McCain, as well as the staff and her friends at PDC and many more friends in the Atwood community.

Tina is gone from our sight but we will carry her in our hearts forever. We love you, Tina Marie!

Services will be 11:00am Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Prairie Developmental Center, Atwood KS. Baalmann Mortuary, Atwood is handling the arrangements.
